For Families of New Students
As your student’s UNU journey draws near, families will receive communications and details both digitally and in mailings to you and your student.
Tips for Families:
- Ensure all admissions, registration, financial aid are complete and correct.

- Assist your student in developing awareness of safety both on and off campus.

Parent & Family Orientation
Families will receive information about housing and dining choices, academic and student support services, campus safety and transportation, as well as student health and wellness.
New Student Orientation
New Student Orientation is specifically designed for new and transfer students, aiming to equip them for a successful transition to UNU. During this program, your student will gain insights into academics and student life, engage with an advisor and a First-Year Mentor (current student), and establish connections within their new community. All first-year and transfer students are expected to partake in this week-long orientation, taking place from 9 am to 10 pm daily.
Parent & Family Weekend
Family Weekend provides a chance for families and students to come together in the fall, offering activities that the entire family can partake in and enjoy.

Paying for Your Education
Effectively managing the financial aspects of a college education is simplified through meticulous planning and assistance. Our office is available to support you in handling tuition payments and overseeing other financial tasks throughout your or your student’s tenure at the United Nations University.

The UNU Parents Fund:
The UNU Parents Fund plays a direct role in backing student programming, campus traditions, and extracurricular activities that fall outside the scope of tuition and fees. Your contribution enables UNU to provide supplementary resources, support services, events, and activities throughout the year, enriching student life and contributing a vital component of belonging and equilibrium to the rigorous academic experience at UNU.
